Elsa Chutá Gabriel

Elsa is a 26 year old Mayan Kaqchikel woman from San José Poaquil, Chimaltenango.

She has been involved in community development and economic entrepreneurship processes. She obtained a scholarship to study midwifery at Asociación CASA in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

When she returned, she collaborated in the Center for Epidemiological Research in Sexual and Reproductive Health (CIESAR) to prevent maternal and infant mortality, strengthening local health providers.

Currently, she is a professor of the degree in Midwifery with Corazón del Agua and Universidad Galielo. She has also continued her studies in Health Services Administration and Management.
